Why God's Word Is Important To The Believer

The Word of God is vital for the Christian but for some reason they never pick it up to read it and it just sit's arounds the house never being used or even thought about until Sunday.

This should not be!


The people of God then complain that they are not having life more abundantly like the Bible says they would.

Picking up the Word of God only when its time to go to the House of God is NOT the way it should be!

I have come to the conclusion that many really don't know how POWERFUL the Word of God is and how the Word of God can change one's life!

Nor do they understand how important the Word of God is and how God's Word is Jesus (God) speaking to you!

Everytime I think of that it blows me away.

The Bible says He watches over His Word to perfom it, which means if you have His Word (Jesus) inside of you. Then that means He is watching over you!

When you think about that, that alone should make you want to pick up the Word of God and read it daily, because again if He is watching over His Word, that means He is watching over you!

Thtat's whay I'm a Word carrier.

You see saints God and His Word are one.

Jesus is the Word, the Living Word; Hebrews 4:12

Now if Jesus is the Word of God that means what?

That means the Word of God is our very contact with the God of the universe, God the Father and it is His contact with us as His children.

Now you should be able to see somewhat why the devil doesn't won't us to read the Bible and get this Word of God in our spirits.

God's Word also is how we are recreated.

Are you tired of the same old problems nagging at you?

If so, get the Word of God in you.

James 1:18, "of His own will He brought us forth by the Word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures."

The Word of God also renews our minds to not think or act like the world does.

It opens our eyes to see the true world as it should be seen like on the movie the Matrix.

You can take the blue pill or the red pill.

You can remain blind to the makeup of the world, or you can take this pill which is the Word of God and have your eyes open to how the world really is.

Our minds our renewed by studying the Word and also by acting upon it.

I say acting upon it because there are many who read the Word of God but who don't act it, live it, but it to proper use and thus the way they think never changes and their mind is not renewed.

You see having God's Word in us means being indewlt by Him which is in itself mind blowing!

John 15:7, "If ye abide in me, and my Words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you."

We must let this Word, the Word of God become a integral part in our lives as believers and become rooted and grounded by His Word so when the devil comes he can't up root us!

This is also why getting the Word of God in us is important because it also build us up.

Acts 20:32, "And now I commend you to God, and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you the inheritance among all them that are sanctified."

You see, the The Word of God builds Christ nature into us; which is a Holy nature for He said be ye holy for I am holy.

Everytime you read the Word of God you are building, putting more of Jesus into you and when you do this and His Word becomes a part of you and He lives in you and you live in Him, what a change!

I also should say before I end that going to school to become learned on the Doctrines of the Bible is Good and I'm not against that at all!

One should be sharp, when it comes to the Word of God and you should know the Doctrines of the Bible and what they mean and how to better understand the Word of God!

But!

You can not be build up by JUST theology (the study of God), or by philosophies or theories about the Word or on the history of the Word of God!

You can ONLY be built up by His Word and by having a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Him through His Word, and prayer!!

So in closing I want to say that the Word of God is powerful and it can change one's life, but we have to put God's Word to use, read the Word, eat the Word, live the Word, live in the Word, and let the Word of God live in us so that His Word can change us!
